Saturday 20th

Saturday morning and the sun is shining.

We set off from Fenny Compton Wharf and made our way through Fenny Compton Tunnel.

And, yes, this is the tunnel! I've said it before, which is the problem when you revisit canals, the top of the tunnel was removed years ago because of subsidence.

Here's a look at a bridge that doesn't take you anywhere. It's the feeder bridge for the Wormleighton Reservoir.

A lovely cruise today, winding our way to the Claydon flight of locks.

Not sure if you can see her but the captain is driving today, mainly because I can step across the lockgates - I've got longer legs.

In total, 8 locks today and about 6 miles cruising until we arrived at Cropredy.

Picked up a nice mooring just above the lock. After that a quick trip to the local shop for a few essentials followed by a walk around the village.

We met some folk with a couple of owls which were so soft to touch.

There was something going on at one of the pubs, lots of music and young people. Too young for us so back to the boat.

After that a quiet evening onboard, a perfect end to a perfect day.
