Today's the day. We set off into the unknown to boldly go where almost everyone else (including us) has gone before. In other words we're going back on the cut.
But, first things first, let's top up with water. Link up the hose, get all ready to start filling and then off to the machine to get it all going. First enter code: #CODE# then enter pontoon number: 3 followed by a final # and Click, the water starts flowing for 30 mins max. There's an auto shut off to conserve water. While the tank was filling we had a nice chat with our neighbour Graham and then we turned the water off by repeating the above process. Quite simple really and very convenient as each pontoon has a water point.
Then off we set. The Captain did her Titanic bit standing at the front as it's a blind exit onto the canal. Mind you, when she was standing there with the wind rushing through her hair and her arms out I wasn't sure which way she wanted me to turn. I'm sure Leonardo didn't have this problem! (I did not do that!).
The sun kept appearing all through the day but the wind was quite chilly. There was blue sky behind us and banks of cloud ahead of us. Are we going the wrong way? No, of course not!
After about 4 hours of continuous cruising we arrived at Crick Marina and moored just opposite.
Hopefully, if the forecast winds do come tomorrow, we will be sheltered here. But, who knows?
Once again, watch this space.
In the meantime, it's Sunday and there's a chicken roasting in the oven. It's been a busy day for us and now it's time to put our feet up and have a cozy evening by the fire.
See you soon.
