Banbury

Set off from Cropredy but first, find a post box, take on water, get rid of rubbish and empty the loo.

Having done all that we got under way.

Just beyond the bridge there's this little café at the edge of the canal. It's got the vibes of a beach café and looks worth a visit. All very casual, all outdoors, lovely on a sunny day.

Here we are at the entrance to Banbury. A slow entry at that having to pass a long line of moored boats. But, who's hurrying?

The new waterside in the city centre. Last time we were here this was all a building site. Just look at it now.

And on the opposite side plenty of moorings for a secure overnight stay.

Ah, the famous Toomey's Boatyard. Look it up online, it's still got the original Victorian dry dock which we saw some years ago. Luckily the new development preserved this historic site.

We did contemplate stopping in Banbury but it's Sunday and many places are closed. So, the captain hopped off and here she is opening the lift bridge for me.

Plenty of gongoozlers watching us work the town lock, luckily no mishaps today.

And, it's all finished. Once again, last time through and this was a building site.

Moored for the night just out of reach of the houses, all ready for our Sunday lunch/supper.

And here it is.

Roast Pork, roast potatoes, crackling, cabbage, beans, cauliflower, broccoli, gravy and a glass of wine.

Now settled in for the night.
