What a difference a day makes

Well, would you believe it. Had our lunch and the captain says: "What shall we do now?" I says "Let's go for a walk!" And, guess what, the sun comes out! Would you believe it?

So, we walked into Weedon, shedding jumpers and fleeces as we went.

Look at that blue sky. We only walked a mile before we came to the old Royal Ordinance Depot built in 1802. It was strategically situated in the centre of England so as to be furthest from coastal invasion and was only decommissioned in 1965.

Here’s the original entrance and a canal spur would have linked it to the main canal.

Quite an impressive entrance portal.

Inside, the canal is still in water and the buildings house a number of businesses including a couple of antiques shoppies. Didn't buy anything but had a good look round.

Back to the boat for a cup of tea and homemade biscuits.

And yet again, would you believe it, a perfect sunset to end the day.

Sleep tight, see you tomorrow.
