Black Spots

For the last few nights we have been mooring at places where the Internet has not been great. So, you will have 2 or 3 days to catch up when we do get back online.

(Friday) Banbury is undergoing a complete face-lift with...

A new Premier Inn on one side of the canal.

And shops and restaurants on the other.

And, right bang in the middle of all this, Tooleys, a Victorian boatyard. We looked round some time ago and the brickwork in the dry dock is amazing.

Not a Victorian boat woman but the captain, having just opened the swing bridge for us to pass through.

Some of the canal side properties the other side of Banbury.

We remember these flats being built but now they look part of the scenery.

We'll probably say the same about these new properties going up.

Sadly, an old property having suffered from a fire. Such a shame.

The captain bringing Polgara into the lock.

The water going out.

The captain going down.

These lift bridges are typical on the Oxford canal and, in the old days, many of them were closed, so it was stop start all the way.

Stopped for the night just south of Kings Sutton but in a place with no Internet signal. Never mind, didn't want to write a blog anyway!
