Damp

Woke up to a sky full of rain, so, no more painting today. Are we downhearted? No, course not!

After a hearty breakfast of eggs bacon and toast, we decided to set off. Now, that's easier said than done. 1st we have to rig the mooring lines. Then top up with water - and that takes a time in itself.

A look at the front of the boat so you can see all the black splodges of anti rust paint I slapped on yesterday.

Here’s the captain doing something important. Not sure what but here's a picture all the same. Oh yes, I remember, she's watching for the water to overflow when the tank's full.

After that, disconnect the electrics from the shore supply, start the engine, cast off and reverse slowly out of the marina and on to the cut.

Yippee, we're off! Skies overcast but at least we're on the move.

We have motored as far as Weedon where we are stopping for the night. Saw a lovely property for sale, Flore Hill Wharf - only. £975000 - dream on.

That's all for now. Sausages in cider tonight, another favourite of ours.
