On to Niffany swing bridge

Tuesday and we set off toward Skipton. Only 3 locks en route but all fairly heavy. Luckily other boats coming up the locks so we didn't have to open the gates, just work the lock down once they had left.

On the last lock were words from the canal poet.

Just look at the countryside we're going through.

Wonderful.

We moored just short of Niffany Swingbridge, nowhere special really but just short of the outskirts of Skipton. In the afternoon we walked 2 miles into the town centre. I am always fascinated by the backs of these houses.

A family of ducks basking in the sun.

In the centre is the junction with the Springs Branch.

Near the centre of town, look at the steepness of the row of houses in the distance.

Even though the shops are close I wouldn't fancy dragging my shopping up that hill.

And, lastly, another nighttime sky at 10:30pm.
