All steamed up in Keighley

Thursday and we moved all of 3 miles along to Keighley. Mind you, there were 5 swing bridges on the way - should have had Weetabix for breakfast!

When we arrived (before lunch) Brigid discovered the steam train timetable and, by catching a bus, we could catch the train to Haworth, home of the Brontes.

Steam heaven!

Soon, we were chuffing along - oh what memories that sound recalled.

Look at that smile.

And another one.

At Haworth we walked up to the old High Street and visited all the places that one should when visiting Haworth.

I'm not sure how but we ended up in a shop buying a suit for me and a coaty thing for Brigid.

Then, time for a cream tea before the return trip.

 What a lovely town.

Even the station was delightful.

All I can say is that our visit to Yorkshire has been amazing so far. This trip along the Leeds & Liverpool canal has far exceeded our expectations. What more is there to come?
