Friday & Saturday at Hall Green

Wow, Friday and the sun is shining! I haven't said that for a long time!

Had to take a picture of this fine fella.

Now this is a real summer's day. Hardly a cloud in the sky.

We are now approaching the top of Bosley Locks, a flight of 12 locks.

This is lovely countryside especially on a day like this.

A few clouds appearing but nothing much. Once again we had help from some walkers, oh, and I nearly forgot, we saw a kingfisher today. Well, we saw streaks of blue as is zipped this way and that along the canal.

This is what it's all about, sitting on the lock beam swinging your legs.

A fine farm with a blue cow!

We passed by Buglawton and then into Congleton. Mind you, on the canal you don't see much of the town, being in a cutting most of the time.

What you do see is quite pleasant.

Over the aqueduct and then past Little Moreton Hall.

Very grand!

We moored at Hall Green, just before Kidsgrove, and had supper at The Bleeding Wolf Hotel. A fitting ending to a fine day.

On Saturday we met up with Matthew & Gail again.

We managed a short trip with them down to the junction of the Macclesfield Canal with the Trent & Mersey and then back again. This trip took in a lock, an aqueduct over a road and one over a canal, a winding in a canal junction and various bridges. Enough content to warrant a boozy lunch at The Bleeding Wolf. We had intended eating somewhere else but by the time we got back to Hall Green we felt it was time to stop and eat.
