First day of spring

That's what it felt like today, first day of spring!

As we set off, the sun was shining (sort of) and it wasn't raining

I can always tell when the weather's good because the captain takes over the steering and lets me walk along the towpath and do all the locks. She says that it's good for my health. Funnily enough, the reverse argument doesn't seem to hold up too well.

An artistic picture ready for the flower show. You can see from the state of the towpath how wet it has been.

What's that? I don't believe it! Blue sky and sunshine!

Yeah, only joking, five minutes later and rain again.

The flag irises are looking lovely - must be all the rain they've been getting.

This boat always amuses me. It's in the middle of a field, sitting in water but not connected to the canal.

It's been there quite a few years now and I can only guess that it's for a farm worker and gets round paying rates and licence fees.

This is tonight's view from our mooring at Wormleighton. It's a lovely isolated spot soon to be spoilt by HS2 passing by this way. Let's hope that we will still be able to chug along at 4 mph while the rest of the world whizzes by in their shiny fast trains.
