Been there and done it!

Saturday.

What an amazing thing, the Internet! Checked in with Traveline GB and, lo and behold, a bus direct from Chorley to Southport, be there in 57 minutes.

Armed with our bus passes we set off to the bus station, climbed aboard and off we went. The other amazing thing was that the bus stop in Southport was almost at the end of Wendy's road.

We had a lovely time with Wendy, Carol and Janet, catching up on too many years of missed conversations. The day was fine and sunny but, all too soon, we had to leave to catch the last bus back to the boat.

The strange thing about Southport is that on previous visits we have always been knocked out by the air there. But this time, perhaps because we didn't have time to get acclimatised, we stayed awake the whole time. I know that sounds bad but it was really good to be able to enjoy the whole day without a feeling of lethargy creeping up on you.

Thanks Wendy, Carol and Janet for a lovely day. Just what the doctor ordered!
