Friday 14th September. Sorry about the delay in
updating the blog but reception at Bugsworth was poor so decided to wait until
we got a better signal. Well, Friday was a miserable day with wind and rain all
day long.
Luckily the basin was very sheltered and we bogged in for the day
catching up on one or two chores that needed doing. We also ventured out to the
pub for lunch and, you’ve guessed it, another favourite to add to the book.
Everyone is so friendly in this part of the world. Even at the supermarket
checkout you can almost get the life history of the person there. Makes a
change from down south!
After lunch we walked into Whaley Bridge – the town,
not the structure – the beer’s not THAT strong! The only problem was that we
followed the shortest route which was
straight up and then
straight down the
other side. I needed to walk off lunch anyway. By the way, Have you ever seen a
road sign for frogs?
After getting back to the boat we learned how to play
Bezique – it must be a good game because Brigid won, something that doesn’t
happen often with games. Settled in for the evening and watched a video of My
Fair Lady.
