Return to the sun

Wednesday and a very cold start to the day. We both had trousers and jumpers and fleeces, you name it, we were wearing it.

Just about to enter Froghall Tunnel. It's very short and you can see the end of it before entering. It's only a single width tunnel and on the right of the boat you can just see the pilings where you can wait if a boat is already coming through.

Someone's got a sense of humour with this artwork on the side of their garden room.

The only problem with these locks is that if you have short legs it's a job to get over them.

Ah, built in the days when waterworks and pumping stations were to be celebrated and not just seen as a commodity.

Stopped at last at Hanley in blazing hot sunshine. To quote Victor Meldrew, I don't believe it! Now almost too hot - but we're not complaining. 

Another busy day tomorrow as we start heading south.
