So, a leisurely breakfast of eggs and bacon, a frustrating hour or so with the computer trying to get it to work normally. I think that it was to do with a couple of updates that threw a spanner in the works. And then we set off.
Wow, looks like sun to me, what do you think?
After about a couple of miles we stopped at Wedges Bakery for lunch. This bakery is in the middle of nowhere but is obviously the place to go. The sandwiches were delicious. Well worth the stop.
A little further on and a whole new town has sprung up alongside the canal.
Just before this lift bridge there is a narrow section of canal which was clogged up with hire boats, much to the annoyance of a single hander. He was trying to get through the lift bridge, retrieve his key that operates the whole thing without any help from anyone else. Unfortunately we were too far away to help out. Next time, perhaps.
Stopped now just the other side of the bridge but would just like to say that we haven't had a spot of rain all day.
I think that next time I'll consult the piece of rope that my mother gave me. She told me that if the rope was wet it was raining. If it was dry and warm it was sunny. Stiff and cold - frosty. Couldn't see it - foggy. Always got the weather right did my mum.
