Coronation Day

Don't know what came over us today. Up and moving the boat before breakfast!

We moved up through Haywood Lock and found a mooring closer to the junction and, more importantly, a strong internet signal.

Had time to admire the skill of the boatman who brought these two out of the junction onto the Trent and Mersey in one clean sweep.

And then, genny on to charge the batteries in time for the coronation.

What an amazing event.

Don't we do the ceremonial bits well.

Could almost have been there.

Had lunch on board, coronation quiche from the butchers in Polesworth. Very good. And then popped out for some milk and veg from Canalside, a large farm shop.

Slight mistake as we ended up spoiling ourselves with tea and cakes (flat white for me). Flat whites have been a favourite of mine since we went to New Zealand. I love them.

It's been raining on and off all day but, luckily, we managed to get out and back in the dry.

Will probably light the fire this evening just to warm the boat through.
