Saturday and we had a Carlsberg morning reaching and sorting out parts of the boat that don't usually get reached or sorted.
How come? Well, we were waiting for a friend of ours to visit us for a natter and a cuppa. This all kept us occupied until midday after which we set off again.
This is one of the wharves in Market Drayton and the building ahead is where we first took on diesel and coal after having just bought the boat. It's closed down now but it still brings back memories.
Under the bridge and there are these moorings with apartments behind. Looks idyllic.
And even though we're leaving I thought I would take a picture of their welcome sign.
The captain's at the helm again as we thread through all the narrow bridges.
She was still steering throughout the five Adderley locks.
Whew! Don't know about you but I could do with a break.
Ah, but look at those views.
And here she is nudging the top lock gate waiting for the lock to fill.
You remember that yesterday I mentioned the cill, well there it is. Get caught up on that and you're in big trouble.
And that's it for today. It's half past three, the sun is shining and it's time for a late lunch.
We had a bit of entertainment during the afternoon. The dog above kept taking flying leaps into the canal. His owner would then dangle a lead with a loop on the end, the dog would bite onto the loop to be pulled out of the water.
During the afternoon I managed to get a bit of painting done on the front of the boat. Otherwise a fairly lazy time.
