Off to Pool

Off to Pool

Monday 8th. It was quite a long and drawn out farewell at the farm this morning. I can't call it home anymore as we are moving on over to the east coast. Gilly had to go off to work at Pitches' Store, helping out in the kitchen. You may remember that we recently had supper in Ophir which was 'rather special'. What we didn't realise, until Gilly told us, was that the chef, the one she works with, is one of the top ten chefs in New Zealand. No wonder the meal was rather special!

At last, after saying goodbye to all the family, 4 cats, 1 dog, 3 horses, 1 pony, 1 cow and 1 pet sheep, we set off.

Much of our journey east has covered ground that was covered either when we visited Naseby or when we were travelling down to Bill & Pat's. We did, however, visit Shag Point to see a colony of fur seals and look at the sea. Didn't stay for long as the temperature has dropped to 15 deg from 25 deg at Moa Creek. Somewhat cool for us.

For lunch we stopped again at the rusty cafe in Oamaru for fish and chips. Also, for the first time in ages managed to connect up to Wifi and answer some emails.

Although our new home is in Timaru, we are closer to a town called Cave.

When we arrived, Brigid's face lit up. Look what's outside our door. Our own private pool!

Five minutes later ...

A quiet evening this evening as we catch our breath and relax in our own private room with our own private shower.
