There was a bit of cloud about first thing and this rainbow appeared in the field opposite. Not sure if it was actually raining or perhaps just a cloud drifting across.
So, we settled down with our books and I took stock of our finances (or lack thereof). OK so far, we can still afford to eat!
You'll notice in the above picture that the windows aren't fully open. That's because the mechanism seems to have jammed. Anyway, around midday a builder appears to take a look at the doors. Lynne can only have called him at 8 o'clock and here he is with his cold chisel and wrecking bar sorting it all out. The result?
Doors wide open to the world!
After a light lunch we decided to walk further up the road to see what was around the corner.
Fantastic views over Lake Manapouri.
As well as the other way to the North or East. I'm not too sure which way we are facing but one picture is looking one way and the other, the other way.
Just to give you an idea of the road we are walking along. It's a typical gravel or unsealed road, most of which seem better than some of our tarred roads.
Supper again with Lynne tonight when she hopes we will be able to finish off the remains of the cold lamb. Lynne has been a superb host and has been very caring over all our needs.
Tomorrow we move on to Oturehua for a few days. We're going to be on a working farm and don't know if there will be any internet there. So, if we go silent for a day or two don't worry, we'll post the blog when we can.
