A (better late than never) happy birthday captain

Not a happy captain this morning. 9th September, it's a miserable day and it's her birthday.

So we set off for Braunston, no point in taking photos, it's cold and wet, we just motored along. Did some exciting things when we got there like taking on water, emptying the loo, turning the boat around so that we could head off along the South Oxford. Life in the fast lane (at 4 mph!)

We motored past familiar places like Wolfhampcote, Flecnode and Lower Shuckburgh, past Napton Junction until we arrived at bridge 109, Napton on the Hill.

A quick check with Google and reservation made for a birthday meal at the Kings Head.

You can see for yourself how successful that was.

Oak smoked salmon & crayfish timbale.

Duo of seafood.

Happy captain.

Blade of beef & blue cheese Wellington.

The King's lamb espetada.

Summer pudding.

Even happier captain.

Sticky toffee pudding.

And last, but not least, the pub sign board.

Happy birthday Brigid.
