A drift of mist resting on the canal.
It really is beautiful when you get up early enough to witness the beauty of God's creation.
After breakfast we walked up to the village to visit the local butcher, where we spent a fortune, and to stock up on milk, etc., at the convenience store opposite.
Then, setting off on the North Oxford Canal towards Rugby.
A passing look at Braunston church, the cathedral of the canals.
Once again, clear skies but a very chilly northerly wind. Brrr, out with the windproof sailing jacket again.
A lovely little wharf at Tarry's bridge.
Plenty of hire boats out today, one of them not too happy about cruising along at tickover past moored boats. Tough! Both us and another boat ahead were of the same mind and set the speed accordingly. Go just that bit too fast and you set boats rocking and folk get the grumps.
Getting near to Hillmorton now with the new housing estate on our right.
Some of the units sold, others still available.
Moored for the night well before the top lock and put in mooring pins as there were no rings provided at this point. Various boats went past and, mainly because of the speed they were going, the pins started to pull out. However, we were in the sun and so we made do. Double checked everything last thing at night - we'll sort it all out in the morning.
