Old stamping ground

Wednesday and we set off in sunshine again.

We are now travelling over old ground for us. Just above Bishop Meadow Lock is this giant recycling plant.

A sad sight as we came into Loughborough, what was the Albion Inn, now with a For Sale sign on it, and by the look of it, not as a pub. Well, certainly not as a going concern.

We moored up in the basin in Loughborough for a bite of lunch and some shopping. I managed to get a 2 for 1 voucher with Pizza Express, so couldn't pass that one up.

After lunch, on the road, sorry, canal again and this time passing the Boat, although they only seem to serve food in the evening. We remember the 'good old days' when it was run by a couple and their home cooked meals were wonderful.

Now then, just past Little Moor Lane Bridge and a new development.

And, on the opposite side, what once was a scrap yard with tall fences all round, an open field ready for development.

And a little further on, the headquarters of the Peter le Marchant Trust.

We stopped just short of Pillings Flood Lock, right outside our old berth at Pillings Lock Marina.
