Bill & Pat send their love.
Ah, young love getting even younger!
After breakfast, Pat whisked Brigid off to Aqua aerobics while Bill and I went to look at the Bloke's Shed. Now, the Bloke's Shed is every bloke's dream. Nearby there is a small grass aerodrome, much like Cold Norton, I suppose and the Bloke's Shed is housed in part of the old operations buildings. They have various rooms for metal work, woodwork, welding, painting, electrical, you name it, there's a room for it.
Various jobs are taken on and above left you can see a wheelbarrow being assembled for a local DIY shop.
The shed has about 40 members, all retired but with a wealth of practical experience. They will take on any job and they help out voluntary groups by making equipment and charging for materials plus a little extra to keep their heads above water.
After lunch we popped into Dunedin to see the sights. We visited the cathedral church while we were there.
And we also visited the Presbyterian church and had a long chat with the lady in their visitors centre.
There is also an excellent museum in Dunedin which told the story of the town and its growth beginners with whalers settling there, followed by the gold rush and development of the port and railway.
The railway station is most impressive.
good to see you are having a great time. Please say hello to Pat and Bill for us and tell them they look very happy in their new homeland. lots of love Val and David
