Woke up this morning to find the whole world suspended in mist. Everything quiet and slightly damp.
You remember that I said yesterday that we were in the middle of nowhere, well, guess who's trying to spoil it all.
HS2! Mile after mile of rolling railway cutting through the middle of this beautiful countryside.
However, it was probably just as bad when the canals were first being dug. Thousands of Navvies digging their way across the country.
Give it a few years and we probably won't even notice the trains as they go racing past. And it will give me even more to wave at.
On the upside, we saw a hare racing around, a wonderful sight.
This photo doesn't do justice to the shades of green that were apparent in the misty air.
On the way out there were a few bare poles in the field. Now tents and tepees are appearing all over this farm, getting ready for the coming season.
We stopped early for a zoom meeting and afterwards walked into Napton to revisit the village shop. And who should we pass in the field? Baa!
Had a good circular walk, a tea and a coffee and a piece of lemon drizzle cake and then back to the boat.
Once again we're fairly isolated and all we can hear is a blackbird singing away.
Blissful.
